Nelly Kim serves as Executive Vice President and Principal of Hollywood Ventures Group and Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Entertainment Media Ventures, Inc., where she operates at the intersection of media investment, dealmaking, and content strategy. Across both platforms, she leads initiatives spanning M&A advisory, strategic partnerships, and the development and packaging of film and television projects, with a focus on opportunities that bridge traditional media, branded entertainment, and emerging technologies.
At Hollywood Ventures Group, Nelly is actively involved in the development and production of a diversified IP pipeline, including prestige documentaries, television series, and original and adapted feature films. She is deeply involved in sourcing and shaping material, structuring financing and partnerships, and positioning projects for studio, streamer, and global market viability. Her work reflects a hybrid executive profile that combines creative development with sophisticated deal architecture and long-term franchise strategy.
With more than 15 years of experience across business development, marketing, and strategic advisory, Nelly has advised a wide range of clients, from private equity and venture capital firms to Fortune 500 companies and high-growth startups. At EMV, she has played a key role in large-scale M&A transactions within the media, entertainment, and technology sectors, while also leading multi-million-dollar transmedia marketing initiatives and negotiating high-impact partnerships with top talent, brands, and industry leaders across film, television, sports, and digital media.
Earlier in her career, Nelly built a strong foundation in marketing and brand strategy, working with globally recognized companies including Acura, Nestlé, ING, Cessna, Ford, KB Home, Allergan, and Lowe’s at Meredith Xcelerated Marketing, one of the top-ranked interactive agencies by Adweek and Ad Age. She further developed expertise in licensing and IP monetization at Original Retrobrand, managing rights across more than 200 universities and major professional sports leagues including the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB, as well as global pop culture brands.
Nelly began her career at the Los Angeles Business Journal, where she specialized in structuring and executing long-term, multi-platform advertising partnerships for blue-chip clients such as Bank of America, American Express, Prudential, Los Angeles Metro, and Sprint, establishing the foundation for her career-long focus on integrated strategy, negotiation, and value creation across media and entertainment.
